EPPR welcomes a new Expert Group on Radiation

At the EPPR-II 2019 meeting that took place in Reykjavik, Iceland 3-5 December, a new Expert Group on Radiation was established. The Radiation Expert Group (RAD EG) is the third Expert Group of the EPPR alongside Marine Environmental Expert Group (MER EG) and Search and Rescue Expert Group (SAR EG).

As the mandate of the Expert Group describes, the function of the Radiation EG is to facilitate the implementation of the EPPR mandate and strategic plan framework regarding radiological and nuclear emergencies.

The first meeting of the new Expert Group will be held during the EPPR-I meeting May 2020, and the official Chair of the EG will be elected. Until EPPR-I meeting in 2020, Mr. Øyvind Aas-Hansen (Norway, DSA) is leading the Expert Group.
